Elton Zeqiraj has been awarded a Wellcome Senior Fellowship.

The UK’s leading medical research charity – the Wellcome Trust – has announced that Dr Elton Zeqiraj is to receive a prestigious Senior Research Fellowship.

Elton, who is currently a Wellcome/Royal Society Sir Henry Dale Fellow in the Astbury Centre, will now lead a multi-disciplinary programme that aims to better understand ubiquitin-dependant receptor degradation and immune signalling. His lab combines approaches that span chemical, structural and cell signalling biology.

Elton said, “we have a unique opportunity to study how elevated and persistent inflammation is regulated, and how this can be suppressed, and I’m absolutely thrilled to get the opportunity to deliver this programme in the Astbury Centre. I am also very thankful for my team who have made this possible.”
