Course overview
The course is a part of the Wellcome Trust and MRC funded Cryo-EM Training Program that offers an intensive learning opportunity tailored to PhD students, postdocs, and early-career scientists with prior cryo-EM experience seeking to enhance their expertise in single particle cryo-EM data collection and processing.
Course Dates: 3rd–6th February 2025
Location: Virtual, with remote access to facilities at The Astbury Biostructure Laboratory (University of Leeds), University of Leicester, and Birkbeck College London.
Registration is open. Deadline is 5th January 2025
Participant Limit: 12
Course details
Day 1 & 2: Morning theory followed by the practical sessions on the Titan Krios microscopes. Participants will work in small groups of 3 for direct hands-on experience with the microscope.
Day 3 & 4: Theory and practice of single particle cryo-EM data processing.
Requirements
Participants should meet the following criteria:
- Be a PhD student, postdoc, staff scientist or a young group leader.
- Have prior experience in cryo-EM microscope operation, EPU data collection setup and data processing.
- Have access to a computer with fast internet, a functional camera, a mouse, and an additional large monitor (highly recommended).
